Protect-A-Tile 19L Eco Black Water-Based Roof Tile/Slate Paint

Protect-A-Tile is a high-quality, Irish manufactured roof paint that is suitable for slates and tiles. It is a water based acrylic paint that is hard wearing, offers good protection against harsh weather conditions and protects against ravelling.

As a rule of thumb, you will cover with one coat roughly 4-5 square meters with 1 litre of paint. The will vary depending on the condition of your slates or tiles. Older tiles may absorb more paint and therefore you will need extra. We recommend applying a second coat, you won’t use as much paint on the second coat.

Preparation is key to long lasting job as paint will not stay on a dirty substrate for long. The roof needs to be clean and bone dry when applying the paint. If there is green growth on the roof we recommend treating it with a suitable fungicide and then washing it down thoroughly prior to painting.

You can use a roller, brush or sprayer for applying the paint. Clean utensils with hot soapy water.
